One continuous, mineral surface from wall to floor: microcement brings a modern sense of calm to bathrooms, living spaces and kitchens – waterproof, low-maintenance and finished with real craftsmanship.
Microcement is a thin, seamless, mineral coating that can be applied to walls, floors and bathrooms. At just a few millimetres thick, it transforms existing surfaces into one continuous, calm finish – with no tiles, grout lines or visible joins. That is exactly what gives it its modern yet pleasantly Mediterranean character, which suits the light-filled houses and fincas of Mallorca so well.
Because the coating is applied so thinly, it can often go directly over existing substrates such as old tiles. That saves laborious tearing out, keeps mess on site to a minimum and noticeably shortens the build time. The result is a surface whose warm, natural tones feel timeless – not a passing trend, but lastingly beautiful. If you are looking for decorative wall design with even more depth, our Decorative Finishes & Stucco offer related techniques; and for classic walls, it is worth taking a look at our Interior Painting.
Expansive, calm and seamless: microcement makes living, dining and hallway walls look as though they were cast from a single piece – ideal for a modern, uncluttered feel.
Walkable and hard-wearing: applied at a suitable thickness and sealed, it creates a seamless floor that flows from room to room with no distracting grout lines.
Waterproof and elegant: microcement wraps washbasin, wall, floor and walk-in shower in one continuous look – entirely without tile grout.
With no tile grout, there are no lines for dirt, limescale or mould to settle into – a clear plus during the island's damp winter and a real gain in bathroom hygiene. Properly sealed, microcement is water-repellent, abrasion-resistant and easy to keep clean.
At the same time, the continuous surface looks visually generous and makes even small rooms feel calmer and more spacious.
A high-quality microcement surface is not created in a single pass. We first check and prime the substrate, add a reinforcing mesh where needed, and then apply several thin layers by hand. Each coat is worked, dried and finely sanded before the next one follows.
The finishing touch is a sealer matched to the level of wear. In bathrooms and on floors it reliably protects against moisture and abrasion, while on living-room walls we use a finer protective layer.
„Our seamless microcement bathroom looks like something out of a design magazine – warm, calm and utterly low-maintenance. The work was clean and on time, and the fixed price was spot on.“
— C. & T. Brandt, Santa PonsaIn most cases, yes. On a sound, well-adhered substrate, microcement can be applied directly over old tiles – which saves tearing them out and reduces mess and build time. We always check the substrate beforehand on site.
Yes. Built up correctly and protected with a suitable sealer, microcement is waterproof and well suited to bathrooms, washbasins and even walk-in showers. The key is clean waterproofing of the substrate and the right protective sealer.
Very low-maintenance. As there are no grout lines, dirt and limescale barely take hold. For everyday cleaning, water and a mild, pH-neutral cleaner are enough – avoid harsh acids and abrasive scouring products.
